Refund & Returns Policy

At Fishingmonk, customer satisfaction is important to us. We follow fair and transparent return and refund practices in line with standards commonly adopted by Australian fishing gear retailers and the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Eligibility for Returns or Exchanges

Returns or exchanges are accepted only under the following circumstances:

  • You received a damaged product
  • You received an incorrect product
  • The product has a manufacturing defect

We do not accept returns for change of mind, incorrect selection, or damage caused by misuse.

Conditions for Returns & Exchanges

To be eligible for a return or exchange:

  • The item must be unused, unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition
  • All original tags, packaging, accessories, manuals, and warranties (if applicable) must be intact
  • Clear photos and videos of the damaged, defective, or incorrect product must be submitted within 24 hours of delivery

Failure to meet these conditions may result in the return or refund request being declined.

Kindly include your Order ID, unboxing video, and photos when reaching out to our support team.

Resolution Options

Once your request is reviewed and approved:

  • Replacement will be arranged for damaged, incorrect, or defective items (subject to stock availability)
  • If a replacement is unavailable, we may offer:
    1. Store credit, or
    2. Refund to the original payment method, where applicable

Fishingmonk reserves the right to inspect returned items before processing any replacement or refund.

Return Shipping

  • Return shipping costs must be borne by the customer, unless the return is due to an error on our part
  • We recommend using a trackable shipping service, as Fishingmonk is not responsible for items lost during return transit

Order Cancellation Policy

  • Orders can be cancelled before dispatch without any cancellation fee
  • If the order has already been dispatched, the return request must follow the conditions outlined in this policy

Australian Consumer Law (ACL)

This policy operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Goods that are faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose may be eligible for a repair, replacement, or refund as required by law.

How can we help?

Q: How Do I Change Or Cancel My Order?

A:We are unable to guarantee an order can be modified or canceled after it has been placed. Please email us at sales@fishingmonk.com.au immediately after placing your order and we will let you know promptly (within 24 business hours) if we are able to cancel or modify your order.

Q: My Shipment Was Damaged, What Can I Do?

A:We are sorry if your gear arrived damaged! Immediately reach out to us about damaged products at sales@fishingmonk.com.au and we will provide a return label to send the damaged product back. If appropriate, you will be refunded or a replacement order will be shipped out.

Q: Gear Was Missing From My Order, What Can I Do?

A:If there are missing items on your order, if the item is in stock, we will send an expedited replacement order to get the gear you originally ordered. Please call us or email us at sales@fishingmonk.com.au

Q: Where Is My Package?

A:After your order has shipped, you will receive an automated email with tracking information. Please note, it can take 24 hours for the tracking to become active. 

You can also track your package before it ships under "Order Status."

Q: How Can I Exchange A Product?

A:If you need a different size, color, or product please return your item(s) for a refund and place a new order at your convenience- we are unable to facilitate traditional exchanges. If you originally bought an item on sale, please reach out to us at sales@fishingmonk.com.au
and we can match the sales price if applicable.
